There are two phones in my organization that need to be recording automatically, but they are not hooked to any computer. I'm pretty sure we need an Allworx Interact license for them (working on that) but is it possible to record calls without a computer right there?
I found an option on the Extension settings page in Allworx Manager to record automatically, just not sure how or if that works and where to find the recordings.
Also, where do we get the files? With a PC they're downloaded into a RecordedCalls folder. Need this rather quickly.
Help much appreciated!
Tracy

Recording calls without a PC
Re: Recording calls without a PC
Does anyone know how to automatically record calls when there's no PC attached to the phones?
Re: Recording calls without a PC
That would typically be done using a call record appliance such as SIP Print and then using a port mirroring feature in the PoE switch mirroring that port traffic to the recorder. As an alternate, Interact can be used as well if you have 2 VM's that you install Interact on. The PC does not have to directly connect to the back of the phone for Interact to work as long as the PC can ping/communicate with both the PBX and the phone itself.
Re: Recording calls without a PC
Sure. All you really need is interact running somewhere on some PC or VM on a server or something, logged in as the user and then dumping the recordings to say a network drive that they can access. As long as the PC with Interact can ping the phone and have proper communications then the PC does not have to plug into the back of the phone. Of course if the phone is a remote phone over public internet then that is another story all together and will not work without that PC having access to the local network of the remote phone/user.wshrader wrote: ↑Tue Mar 27, 2018 8:00 amCan you explain in more detail how you would use an un-attended Interact instance to record all calls automatically? I have a customer who might be interested in this if it works.sp90378 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2017 6:53 am That would typically be done using a call record appliance such as SIP Print and then using a port mirroring feature in the PoE switch mirroring that port traffic to the recorder. Of course this would be just a user by user basis. It would require something like SIP Print to easily do the entire system.
