Backup Archive Management

We keep a backup of all of our customer systems, after completed installs and before any upgrades.
The backup archives compress very well with 7zip. I backup the complete folder (the repository.cfg file and the folder with that server's serial number) and subfolders in one file, and put the version, customers name, and date of backup in the file (this information isn't even in the repository, server, or backup cfg files!). Then that backup file I keep in another folder with the customers name. This way, I don't have to worry about incremental backups.
