How can a 6x system be configured to route calls by DID where a receptionist answers calls for different businesses and unanswered or afterhour calls need to go to different auto attendants?
For example:
For company #1 is to go the Receptionist at 101, but if she isn't at her desk it goes to auto attendant 401.
For company #2 is to go the Receptionist at 101, but if she isn't at her desk it goes to auto attendant 402.

Advanced Routing by DID
Re: Advanced Routing by DID
I figured this out myself. Create phantom extensions (i.e., ones not attached to a handset) for each DID that you need advanced routing for. Direct the DID to that extension. Setup the routing rules for that extension.
As a result, the DID will now function with the advanced routing rules setup for the extension it is pointed to.
