Is it possible to have an Allworx 6x system work with Microsoft's Unified Messaging?
Our office has an MS Exchange Server and an Allworx 6x phone system. We currently have the Allworx system setup to forward a copy of voicemails to the recipient's e-mail address, but know that other PBXs integrate with MS's Unified Messaging system.
Please let me know if this can be done with the Allworx PBX. Also, if anyone has thoughts on whether this should be done (i.e., pros/cons) please let me know.
Thanks.

Microsoft Unified Messaging
Re: Microsoft Unified Messaging
What are you hoping to do with the integration? The types of integration I've usually seen to other Unified Messaging systems (besides voicemail management) usually have to do with presence settings (specifically, having calendar entries change your presence). Is that what you'd like to see, or are you looking for other functionality?
Re: Microsoft Unified Messaging
I didn't know about the more advanced integrations, so was thinking VM. With the current configuration (PBX forwarding a copy of VM via e-mail), users are receiving two copies of each VM. One on the phone and one via e-mail. My hope was to have it so when they delete the VM it is deleted in both places. Also, I believe Microsoft's UM transcribes the messages, which would be a nice feature to have.
Re: Microsoft Unified Messaging
We've switched everyone to just get VMs via email--no listening to VMs on the phone at all. Had a couple of people resistant, but it's been the best solution overall--smartphone access, filing, etc.
I'm also playing with Phonetag (www.phonetag.com) for transcription. My VM account forwards to my Phonetag account (you get an email address, even though the website info talks mainly about using their voicemail system natively), and then Phonetag emails me a transcribed message with the original .wav file. The transcription is great, but for some reason it takes about half an hour for VMs to be delivered.

Re: Microsoft Unified Messaging
Thank you for the reply, but I'd rather use Microsoft's Unifiied Messaging to do this. After all, I've already paid for it. So, back to my initial question: Is it possible to intigrate Allworx w/ MS Unified Messaging? If so, how?
Re: Microsoft Unified Messaging
I'll add my voice here as well.
We want to be able to utilize the Exchange UM capabilities with the Allworx 48x. Has anybody done this?
