Configuring Polycom SoundStation IP 7000

Post by tlabarge »

Has anyone configured or know how to configure the IP 7000 with an Allworx system? Our vendor recommended this for a conference phone. They sent us instructions on how to configure it as a Generic SIP. In the Allworx system logs the SIP request is getting discarded citing that the source was not trusted.

Thanks in advance,
Tim

I have 2 working IP 7000.
In the allworx go to handsets then create a generic sip.
make the login id and password the same as the user id under the generic sip.

On the polycom set up your SIP line with IP address of server, using UDP only.
And under authentication of the line, input in the login id and password that you set in the allworx.
When it is registered with the allworx the polycom icon in the upper left of the polycom screen will be solid black.

After I had it registered I could not dial out. The polycom took the dial plan. So what you have to do is open a web browser and point it to the IP of the polycom.
Default user name is Polycom default password is 456. Polycom is capitalized.
And I think it was under line config the dial plan is at the bottom and I erased the dial plan.
You can also configure your SIP from the web interface which is easier than on the phone I think.

Any questions let me know and I can go into more detail, this is from memory I do not have the polycom in front of me.

The only problem I have with them is bad echo. But that could be the 3rd party conf bridge service we use.
