Caller ID Help
Caller ID Help
We have a company phone list with service techs that all have Cell Phones. When they call into the office, the Caller ID just says 'CELL PHONE PA', along with their phone number. Since they call into the main number, our receptionist has to answer the phone each time with the 5-second full greeting, but it'd be nice to program in the guy's phones so that she could just pick up the phone and say, "Hey Jason!". How do we add numbers to the system so that it recognizes certain callers and displays a name that we program?
Re: Caller ID Help
Don't know that you can do that. You can do Caller ID based routing of calls, but I've never seen where you can display caller info based on the ID.
Re: Caller ID Help
While it might be a little bit of a pain, you can set up a separate extension or caller queue, and have the normal inbound extension recognize these numbers and route it to the new queue or extension.
It will take a bit of work on the front end but then you can name their inbound ID whatever you want! "Techs" "lemmings" "Obeyersofthesystemadmincode"
