Free updates through 8.2
Free updates through 8.2
FYI:
Anyone can upgrade through 8.2 for all Allworx servers with or without a license. If you do not have the license then you just need to manually load the software to the system. This was partly done to support the Verge phones without needing to pay for a software upgrade key, among some other reasons.

Re: Free updates through 8.2
Where can one download the 8.2 software to manually install it?

Where are the links for the firmware for the manual update.
Re: Free updates through 8.2
You should be able to update it normaly via Maintenance -> Update and choosing option 1 (Download update from the web.)robphoenix wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2019 6:04 pm Where are the links for the firmware for the manual update.

Re: Free updates through 8.2
Can some share the update 8.2, I am unable to download (see below), and we need to replace some broken 9212L handsets which seems to be discontinued with the new Verge 9312.
Code: Select all
Update
Current version: 7.5.19.1
Build Date: Aug 10 2014, 20:25:45
Caution: Please perform a backup of this server before proceeding with a software upgrade. User assumes all risk.
No newer update available on the web
Re: Free updates through 8.2
1) You should not and likely cannot update directly from v7.5 to v8.2. It may work to skip versions but officially you should step through each version in between. I do this without exception.coolie1101 wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 10:46 am Can some share the update 8.2, I am unable to download (see below), and we need to replace some broken 9212L handsets which seems to be discontinued with the new Verge 9312.Code: Select all

2) Updating to v8.4 is free without a Feature Key.
3) I don't know if sharing these files is allowed since one must have access to the Allworx partner portal to download these files.

Re: Free updates through 8.2
I apologize for not making this clear. To update to v8.4 without a Feature Key you must do so manually by having the update file(s). These can only be obtained through the Allworx Partner portal which is why I questioned whether sharing these files is allowed.coolie1101 wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 2:18 pm1) Understood.
2) I don't know why it's showing no newer version s available.

General Rant on Allworx software
I am so glad I'm not servicing allworx anymore. I feel sorry for y'all.
BTW I kept our own "list of approved GA software" and never upgraded a customer site unless I used the software internally on our own system for a few months. When Allworx sent John Fr*sch*ll* to do some in-house training, he insisted that we upgrade our demo system from 7.2.12 to 7.2.15 (or .16), which is when our system started to crash. So I downgraded our system back down. Keep those backups safe!
